How Krystalyz works

Choose your sources

Krystalyz starts with a general-interest collection of broadcast, newspaper, public-media, and international sources. From there, it is entirely up to you: add the sources you want, remove the ones you do not, and change your selection whenever you like.

When you follow a source, its reporting appears in your feed. When you stop following it, its articles disappear from your feed.

Krystalyz does not recommend sources or rank stories by engagement. There is no “For You” feed and no algorithm deciding what deserves your attention. Your feed is based on the sources you choose.

One story, not twenty copies

When many outlets cover the same event, Krystalyz brings that coverage together in one story entry.

Instead of seeing twenty near-identical articles in your feed, you see the story once, with every source covering it listed underneath. That makes it easier to understand what happened, compare coverage, and notice perspectives from outlets you might not otherwise have opened.

As you read, your grouped feed gets shorter instead of continuously refilling with duplicates.

AI-written, source-checkable

Krystalyz uses AI to create clearer headlines and concise summaries. Every AI-generated headline or summary is marked ✦ Enriched.

Want to verify it? Tap the mark to view the publisher’s original headline and article text. The original is never removed or hidden; it is always available directly from the article.

If something looks wrong, you can compare it with the source immediately and let us know. AI helps make your feed easier to read, but it does not decide what appears in it. It describes reporting from the sources you already selected.

Read your way

Grouped shows one entry per story, combining related coverage from multiple outlets. It is designed for reading through your news until you are caught up.

Latest shows every article in chronological order, newest first. A divider marks the articles that arrived since your last visit, so you can scan the unfiltered stream when that is what you want.

Topic folders, without manual filing

Krystalyz automatically organizes sources into topic folders based on what they publish. When you add a source, it is placed somewhere sensible without requiring any setup from you.

Sources marked Auto may move between folders as their coverage changes. If you prefer to keep a source in one place, use its ⋯ menu to pin it to a folder. You can also turn off auto-organization entirely, and your folders will remain unchanged.

Your daily digest

Krystalyz publishes three digest editions each day: morning, midday, and evening.

Each edition begins with a short overview, followed by an In Brief list of the most notable developments. From there, stories are organized by topic. Select an item in In Brief to jump to the full story; use All Coverage to see every article from your sources about the same event.

With the personalized digest, each edition is created from the sources you follow and published on your local schedule. Without it, you can still read the shared edition: the same format, built from the broader Krystalyz news collection and published on the service schedule.

Plans and features

No card is required for the trial. When the 30-day trial ends, nothing is deleted and your account automatically continues on the Free plan. You can keep following five sources of your choice, and AI headlines and summaries remain available. Subscribe whenever you want to restore unlimited sources.
