Newsletters: Change an Address

Point a newsletter subscription straight at Krystalyz, so editions arrive in your feed instead of your inbox.

With the Newsletters add-on, Krystalyz gives you an address of your own — something like k7f2qx9m@in.krystalyz.news. Anything sent to it becomes an item in your feed, summarised and grouped with the news it covers, and stays readable for a year.

Changing the address at the publisher is the simplest way to use it: there is no forwarding rule to maintain, and the newsletter never reaches your own inbox at all.

Before you start

Open Settings → Newsletters in the app and create your address if you have not already. Copy it with the button beside it.

Change the address at the publisher

Open the most recent edition of the newsletter you want to move.
Find the manage your subscription or update your preferences link — almost every newsletter carries one at the foot of each edition — and follow it.
Put your Krystalyz address in where your own address is, and save.

If the publisher offers no way to change the address, unsubscribe and sign up again with your Krystalyz address instead.

Check that it worked

The next edition goes to Krystalyz rather than your inbox, usually within a minute of being sent. Settings → Newsletters → Recent arrivals lists everything the address has accepted, whether or not it became an item in your feed — so it is the place to look if an edition seems to be missing.

Your address is private

Treat it like a password: anyone who knows it can send mail to your feed. If it does get out, change it from Settings — the old address keeps accepting mail and quietly discards it, so nothing bounces.

Removing a newsletter again

Every sender you receive from is listed in Sources, under Newsletters, alongside the rest of what you follow. Open a sender's ⋯ menu and choose Open archive to see everything you hold from it, or Delete all from this sender to remove it in one go. To remove a single edition, open it and choose Delete. Deletion removes your copy; it does not affect anyone else who received the same edition.
